Care Philosophy

"The rewards of the patient-doctor relationship are based on open communication. I am a very good listener and explainer. I work to understand the context of my patients' experiences so the advice I provide is personal and clear. My goal is through working together my patients will have a better understanding of their health and healthy behaviors which includes the treatment options I recommend."

Personal Interests

I enjoy bicycling and contemporary theater in DC. A good year would include a dozen major league baseball games. I play recorder and am a member of the American Recorder Society. Telemann is my favorite composer. I still enjoy rock and roll (60s and early 70s), for example, Ian Anderson. Among my favorite books are The Three Musketeers by Dumas; Guns, Germs and Steel by Diamond; and The Art of Loving by Dr. Erich Fromm. Among my favorite movies are Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Blazing Saddles and On Golden Pond.

Care Philosophy

"It is vital that all of us take charge of our health and actively pursue the means necessary to achieve and maintain wellbeing. I serve as a guide in helping a patient understand not only the importance of good health, but also whatever disease process may pertain to his/her case, what treatment measures are indicated, and what preventative measures would be needed for the future."

Personal Interests

Spending time with family, attending multicultural events, playing piano, traveling, listening to rock and classical violin or piano music, and reading books like Eat, Pray, Love and the Harry Potter Series. I also enjoy movies like Something's Gotta Give, Casino Royale, and Blood Diamond.
